Wellesley Student-Athletes Caglieris, Hopper, Stacy Selected as 2018 Albright Fellows

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Three Wellesley College student-athletes have been selected among the 48 Wellesley College students named Albright Fellows for 2018. Junior Mia Caglieris (Hightstown, N.J.) of the crew team, junior Sydney Hopper (Newcastle, Wash.) of the softball team, and senior Leilani Stacy (Collierville, Tenn.) of the track & field team will join this year's fellows for the 2018 Albright Institute Wintersession from January 8-25, 2018.

The Madeleine Korbel Albright Institute for Global Affairs at Wellesley College selects approximately 40 students every year from across the majors and disciplines to participate in the Institute's programs. This year's theme is: Harnessing the Power of Technology: Navigating Truth and Trust in a World Transformed.

During the Institute, the Fellows work in multidisciplinary groups to address significant global challenges. After weeks of research, collaboration, and expert interviews, the Fellows make presentations to the Mary Jane Durnford '59 Distinguished Visiting Professor at the end of the program. This year's Distinguished Visiting Professor is Wendy R. Sherman, Senior Counselor at Albright Stonebridge Group and the former U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs (2011-2015).
