Wellesley's Harvey Honored with NADIIIAA Emerging Athletic Administrator Award

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) has announced that Elaine Harvey, Assistant Director of Communications and Development at Wellesley College, is the recipient of the 2018 NADIIIAA Emerging Athletic Administrator Award.

Annually, the award winner is presented with a commemorative plaque and a $1,000 professional development grant from NADIIIAA. Harvey will receive her awards during the NADIIIAA Reception at the NCAA Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, January 20. The NADIIIAA Emerging Athletic Administrator Award is presented to a professional with seven or fewer year's cumulative experience as a titled athletics administrator at the Division III level. The award recognizes involvement and leadership roles on an institution campus or in a conference office.

"I've benefited greatly from strong leaders and mentors throughout my career in athletics," said Harvey. "Being honored with this award is actually a testament to thoughtful investment by my institutions in my professional and personal development; for that, I am most appreciative."

Harvey's passion working in athletics is demonstrated by her investment in her development role that includes: an increase in Friends of Athletics annual fund gifts by 31% to over $250K in 16-17 and achieving 100% giving from the senior athletes. In addition, she has managed the newly established Athletics Hall of Fame program to ensure a successful 2nd and upcoming 3rd classes. Finally, she has streamlined monthly communications with sports specific alumnae and enhanced the overall promotion of student-athletes.

NADIIIAA is comprised of more than 700 athletics administrators from over 350 institutions and conferences competing at the NCAA Division III level. The Association encourages the continued development of athletics programs focused on the student-athlete and based on sound educational principles and the Division III philosophy. NADIIIAA is administered by NACDA, which is in its 53rd year. For more information on NACDA, the 17 professional associations and/or three foundations it manages, please visit www.nacda.com.
