WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Three current Wellesley College student-athletes have been selected among this year's fellows for the 2019 Albright Institute at Wellesley College. Juniors Mar Barrera (Sandwich, Mass.) and Frances Dingivan (Salt Lake City, Utah) of the crew team and senior Mariana Hernandez (Orlando, Fla.) of the lacrosse team will take part in The Albright Institute Wintersession 2019. The Institute's 2019 Wintersession programming started on January 7 and runs through January 24.

The Madeleine Korbel Albright Institute for Global Affairs at Wellesley College selects approximately 40 students every year from across the majors and disciplines to participate in the Institute's programs. During the Institute, the Fellows work in multidisciplinary groups to address significant global challenges.

After weeks of research, collaboration, and expert interviews, the Fellows make presentations to the Mary Jane Durnford '59 Distinguished Visiting Professor at the end of the program. This year's Distinguished Visiting Professor is Samantha Power, U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations (2013-2017) and the Anna Lindh Professor of the Practice of Global Leadership and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School.
