Wellesley’s Ferrett Named Associate Director of Athletic Communications at Temple

Wellesley College Director of Sports Information and Communication Lauren Ferrett has resigned from her role to take on the position of Associate Director of Athletic Communications at Temple University. Ferrett began her employment with Temple University on September 29.

"Lauren's departure is incredibly bittersweet," remarked Wellesley Director of Athletics, Bridget Belgiovine, "transitioning to Temple will be a wonderful opportunity for her but we will miss her presence, creative talents and support of the department and the college."

Lauren Ferrett leaves Wellesley after spending 7 years in the department. She joined Wellesley in 2007 after completing a master's degree in instructional technology at Bloomsburg University.

"I was really fortunate to work with an amazing group of people at Wellesley. The student-athletes, student workers, faculty, and staff are all the best of the best. I wish Wellesley Athletics the best of luck in the future, and I will still be following and rooting for the Blue!"

At Wellesley, Lauren oversaw the promotion and publicity of all Wellesley sports teams. She also managed WellesleyBlue.com and transitioned the department through three different athletics sites.

Aside from her reporting and promotional responsibilities, Lauren served on several department committees including the Advisory Committee, Campus Communications Committee and was instrumental with the implementation and use of social media to promote programs and athlete performances. Lauren also worked with Public Affairs to oversee the transition to the new Wellesley Athletics logo and was responsible for the development and applications of consistent brand use.

In addition to her work on-campus, Lauren served as Chair of the NEWMAC SID Committee and was involved in professional organizations, presenting at both CoSIDA and ECAC-SIDA workshops.

"Lauren's dedication to Wellesley athletics and in particular her commitment to support and promote our student athletes has left a void that will be tough to replace," added Belgiovine. "Wellesley's loss is a huge gain for the student-athletes, coaches and staff at Temple University. We wish her the best."
