Bio

Elaine Harvey was named Wellesley's Assistant Director for Development and Communications in the spring of 2016. Her position is funded in partnership with the NCAA Division III Strategic Alliance Matching Grant Program

Harvey comes to Wellesley following four years as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Internal and External Communications at Northern Vermont University-Johnson in Johnson, Vermont. At NVU-J, she was responsible for student-athlete leadership programming, overseeing the athletic department's annual fund, alumni relations and fundraising efforts. Harvey also managed the marketing, promotion and day-to-day sports information and game day operations for Northern Vermont University-Johnson's 15 intercollegiate athletic programs. In addition, she guided NVU-J athletics through a complete brand evolution, encompassing a logo enhancement, website redesign and a revenue generating trademark.

Prior to arriving at Northern Vermont University-Johnson, Harvey worked as an account executive and digital analyst in Washington, D.C. at the public relations firm of Powell Tate|Weber Shandwick. At Powell Tate|Weber Shandwick, she was exposed to top clients such as: Nike, Pepsi, the National Women's Law Center, the American Council on Education, and BAE Systems. She also previously worked in media and public relations for the Peace Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

A former NCAA Division III student-athlete, Harvey was a three-year starter and two-year captain of the women's soccer team at Mount Holyoke College. Harvey graduated from Mount Holyoke with a degree in American Studies in 2010 and received her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Vermont in 2016.
