Friends of Athletics Recognition Awards

Linda K. Vaughan Award for Exceptional Service
Established in 1989 as the Friends of Wellesley Athletics Exceptional Service Award, and renamed in 2010 to honor Linda K. Vaughan, this award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated relentless passion in support of Wellesley’s accomplishments in recreational and competitive athletics and who has shown the team spirit, creativity, courage and leadership that exemplify Linda Vaughan’s belief that the way we play the game and the way we live our lives is more important than the final score.

Friends of Wellesley Athletics Honor Award
Established in 1989, this award is to be given to a member of the Wellesley College community who has rendered outstanding service and support to athletics at Wellesley College. 

2012 Recipient: Dr. Joanne Borg-Stein, Team Physician
 

Five Year Service Recognition
Established in 1989, this award is given to coaches, trainers, staff and athletic administrators who have contributed to the intercollegiate athletic program for five years.

2012 Recipients: Wendy Berry, Head Squash Coach; Lauren Ferrett, Director of Sports Information; Sherry Makerney, Head Golf Coach; Tony Mohammed, Head Soccer Coach

Four-Year Varsity Athletic Recognition

Established in 1987, this award is given to Varsity athletes who participated on a given Wellesley team all for four years, including all competitive seasons.
