Wellesley College Athletics - Practice Policies

Students may not miss class for practice.

If a student-athletes has a class that conflicts with practice they should inform their head coach immediately so that they are aware that the class schedule may cause the student-athlete to be late or unable to attend at all.

The NCAA requires that student-athletes be given one day off per week when classes are in session.

Captain’s practices typically refer to a practice or workout session conducted outside the official playing season of a certain sport and organized by the captains or other members of the team. Student-athletes may organize or require on-court or on-field activities confined primarily to members of a Wellesley College athletic team ONLY during the official playing season. If student-athletes are interested in organizing group workout or practice activities outside the official playing season, it must be VOLUNTARY and you can’t report back to your coach about activity or who was in attendance.
