Nico Santiago Named Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Wellesley (Aug 16, 2018)

Nico Santiago joined Wellesley as Assistant Sports Performance Coach in 2018 after spending three years as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at his alma mater, Gallaudet University in Washington D.C.

While at Gallaudet, Santiago assisted with all aspects of developing, designing and implementing strength, speed/agility, conditioning, flexibility and recuperative programs for the department's 14 varsity sports. Santiago got his start in strength and conditioning as an undergrad, interning with Gallaudet Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Stephon Healey during his senior year. Also a member of the Bison football program, Santiago was a team captain during his senior season and helped Gallaudet claim the program's first-ever Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) championship and a trip to the NCAA Division III Championship in 2013.

Santiago holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and American Red Cross and is a USAW - Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.
