Wellesley Field Hockey Earns First Round Bye in NCAA Tournament

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College field hockey team is heading to the 2013 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament. The Blue have received a first-round bye and will play in the second round of the tournament on November 17th. 

Wellesley will take on the winner of Ursinus College and Wilkes University. Ursinus  has a 14-5 overall record and captured the the Centennial Conference title on Sunday, with a 2-0 win over Franklin and Marshall. Wilkes is 8-11 and won the Freedom Conference Tournament with a 2-1 overtime win over Misericordia on Sunday. 

Wellesley won the 2013 NEWMAC Tournament with a 1-0 overtime victory over Mount Holyoke. The Blue have a 17-3 overall mark, with two of their three losses coming to NCAA tournament teams.
