#8 Blue Field Hockey To Face Juniata in NCAA Second Round

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Nationally ranked No. 8 Wellesley College Field Hockey will make its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Md. After receiving a first-round bye, the Blue will play Juniata University at 2:00 PM on Saturday. 

Juniata, winners of the Landmark Conference tournament championship, currently stands at 15-5 overall. The Eagles earned the Landmark Conference's automatic bid and their first trip to the NCAA tournament since 2010 with a 1-0 double overtime victory over Catholic on Saturday night. The Eagles then defeated Gwynedd-Mercy, 2-1, to advance to the second round as Sarah Bilheimer and Sarah Spencer scored second have goals in a 2-1 comeback victory. Bilheimer, a junior from Bethlehem. Pa., is the Eagles leading scorer with 11 goals and 30 points on the season. 

#8 Wellesley earned the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) automatic qualifier with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Mount Holyoke on Sunday, November 9, 2014. The Blue have an 18-2 overall record, tying last season's program record for the most wins in a season. 

Tickets will be available at the Sea Gull Stadium ticket booth, beginning one hour prior to the start of the first match of the day. No two-day passes will be available for the games at Salisbury University. Prices are: $5 for General Admission and $3 for Seniors, Students, and children 12-and-under.

Second and third round host Salisbury will take on Centre College in Saturday's first game at 11:00 AM. Salisbury is currently the top ranked team in the nation. The winners of Saturday's contests will play on Sunday at 1:00 PM for the right to advance to next weekend's national championship weekend in Lexington, Virginia.
