Wellesley Field Hockey Receives NFHCA National Academic Squad Honors

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has announced the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for the 2019 season. This year, 1,943 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions earned recognition, including four from the Wellesley College field hockey has earned Academic Team honors.

The Blue have been an NFHCA Academic Team in each of the past ten seasons (Adam Richins).
Field Hockey Earns 10th Consecutive NFHCA Academic Team Honor

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has announced the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Awards for the 2019 season and for the tenth consecutive year, Wellesley College field hockey has earned Academic Team honors. 

Dennis was named All-Region for the first time in her career (Adam Richins).
Field Hockey's Dennis Named to NFHCA Division III All-Region First Team

Wellesley College field hockey junior Carson Dennis (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) has been named a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-New England East Region First Team selection for the 2019 season. The All-Region selection is the first of Dennis' Wellesley career following a season in which she was named to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) First Team for the first time.

Four From Wellesley Recognized as NEWMAC Fall All-Sportsmanship Honorees

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has revealed the 2019 Fall All-Sportsmanship honorees and four Wellesley College student-athletes have been recognized among the 57 fall selections.

Wellesley College field hockey senior Hannah Maisano (Gambrills, Md.) will play in the 2019 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division III Senior Game at 5:00 PM EST on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim, Pa. following the completion of the NCAA Division III semifinal games.

Wellesley's Dennis, Wiggin Named to NEWMAC Field Hockey All-Conference Team

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2019 Field Hockey conference and postseason awards on Thursday and Wellesley College field hockey juniors Carson Dennis (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) and Mitzi Wiggin (North Hampton, N.H.) have each been named to the 2019 All-Conference team. Dennis earned a spot on the first team and Wiggin was named to the All-Conference second team.

Doyle (4), Rappaport (9), and Meader (8) each earned selection to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team (Frank Poulin).
Three From Blue Field Hockey Earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Honors

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2019 Field Hockey Academic All-Conference Team. A total of 60 student-athletes were honored, including three from the Wellesley College field hockey team.

Caitlin Campbell and the Blue end the season with a 10-9 overall record (Adam Richins).
Field Hockey Falls to Springfield in NEWMAC Quarterfinals, 2-1

Sophomore Kyra Ashe (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored a pair of goals to lead fourth-seeded Springfield College to a 2-1 victory over fifth-seeded Wellesley College in the quarterfinals of the 2019 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Championship at Stagg Field.

Caitlin Campbell scored the game-winner with 2:29 left in regulation (Adam Richins).
Campbell's Late Goal Lifts Blue Field Hockey to 3-2 Win at Wheaton

Sophomore Caitlin Campbell (San Diego, Calif.) scored the game-winning goal with 2:29 remaining in regulation to lift Wellesley College field hockey to a 3-2 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) victory over Wheaton College on Saturday afternoon at Nordin Field. 

Mitzi Wiggin and the Blue will travel to Springfield on Tuesday (Adam Richins).
No. 5 Wellesley to Open NEWMAC Field Hockey Championship at No. 4 Springfield

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has released the 2019 Field Hockey Championship Bracket with the conclusion of regular season competition on Saturday afternoon. The championship tournament consists of six teams. No. 5 Wellesley College will play at No. 4 Springfield in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, November 5.

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Junior Carson Dennis (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) recorded her second hat trick of the season to lead Wellesley College field hockey to a commanding 6-1 non-conference victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on a rainy Wednesday afternoon at Butler Stadium. 

Julia Rappaport registered her second multi-goal game of the season (Macy Lipkin '23).

Sophomore Julia Rappaport (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) scored a pair of goals to lead Wellesley College field hockey to a 3-1 non-conference victory over Simmons College on Saturday morning at Daly Field.

MIT Rallies Past Blue Field Hockey, 5-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- MIT scored five unanswered goals to rally from a 2-0 first period deficit and defeat Wellesley College field hockey, 5-2, in New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Tuesday night at Jack Barry Field.

Carson Dennis scored her ninth goal of the season for the Blue (Macy Lipkin '23).

Senior Rachel Hamilton (Newton, Mass.) and sophomore Gillian Roeca (Baltimore, Md.) each scored to lead No. 6 Tufts University to a 2-0 non-conference victory over Wellesley College field hockey on Wednesday evening at Butler Stadium.
