Brubaker Earns NEWMAC Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week Honors

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College junior Danielle Brubaker (Princeton Junction, N.J.) has been named the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 15, 2019.

Brubaker had a career-best week for the Blue while leading Wellesley to back-to-back victories. Wellesley's center back scored four goals and had three assists in two games while also helping the Blue limit their opponents to just one goal against on the week. Brubaker scored a career-high two goals in a 10-0 rout at Bridgewater St. on Wednesday. She followed that with the best game of her career, again scoring twice while also adding three assists as the Blue defeated Me.-Farmington, 8-1. The junior defender had scored just two goals in 34 career games prior to this week.

Wellesley (3-2 overall) will host Framingham St. in the team's next game on Wednesday, September 18, at 5:00 PM.
