The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the list of 2023 National Academic Teams on Wednesday. Wellesley College field hockey is one of 61 Division III programs to earn the recognition. 2023 marks the 14th straight year the Blue have earned National Academic Team status.

On Wednesday, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) revealed the 2023 National Academic Squad. 1783 Division III student-athletes received the honor, including 10 members of Wellesley College field hockey.

On Wednesday, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the 2023 NFHCA Division III All-Region Teams. Wellesley College junior Camille Newman (New York, N.Y.) was named to the Region I Second Team.

Four Named to NEWMAC Fall All-Sportsmanship Team

On Tuesday, the NEWMAC announced the 2023 Fall All-Sportsmanship Team. Senior Kate Salembier (Sierra Madre, Calif.), juniors Maya Benway (Harvard, Mass.) and Carrie Huang (Seattle, Wash.) and sophomore Emily Brydges (Suffield, Conn.) represented the Blue on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Wellesley College field hockey juniors Camille Newman (New York City, N.Y.) and Eleanor Wenners (Rye, N.H.) were named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Team on Thursday. Newman earned First Team All-Conference honors while Wenners received Second Team All-Conference recognition.

The NEWMAC released the 2023 Field Hockey Academic All-Conference Team on Friday. Among the honorees were nine members of Wellesley College field hockey. Selections must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2023 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

wo first quarter goals gave No. 3 seed WPI a 2-0 victory against No. 6 seed Wellesley College field hockey in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals at H. Carr Field on Tuesday. The Engineers (10-8 Overall, 7-2 NEWMAC) now head to MIT at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 2 for the NEWMAC Semifinals.

With the conclusion of the last game of the regular season this evening, the NEWMAC has released the 2023 Field Hockey Championship bracket, which consists of six teams aiming for the title of NEWMAC Champion. Wellesley College field hockey will head to WPI for a matchup with the Engineers on Tuesday, October 31 starting at 6:00 PM. The Engineers defeated the Blue 3-1 on Saturday, October 28, with senior Abigail Rauch (Jackson, N.J.), and sophomores Eve Marineau (Greene, Maine) and Arie Lang (West Hartford, Conn.) each scoring for WPI.

WPI Bests Blue Field Hockey on Senior Day, 3-1

Wellesley College field hockey finished its regular season with a 3-1 loss against WPI on Saturday at Butler Stadium. Prior to the game Wellesley acknowledged five seniors for their contributions to the Blue. The seniors honored were Alex Lenart (Princeton Junction, N.J.), Jocelyn Andrews (Malvern, Pa.), Cassidy Novello (Scotch Plains, N.J.), River Schiff (Potomac, Md.), and Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Pa.).

Wellesley Field Hockey Earns Decisive Win over Clark, 4-1

Senior River Schiff (Potomac, Md.), junior Sara Maniscalco (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and first year Katie Golla (Oak Park, Ill.) each had a goal and an assist to propel Wellesley College field hockey to a 4-1 NEWMAC victory against Clark on Saturday at Granger Athletic Complex. In addition to the trio, senior Cassidy Novello (Scotch Plains, N.J.) scored a 13th career goal for the Blue (8-8 Overall, 4-4 NEWMAC), sophomore Sophia Sohigian (Wilmette, Ill.) earned an assist, and senior goalie Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Pa.) sent back five shots.
