#d3week Student-Athlete Profile: Jaclyn Tsang, Wellesley Softball

As part of NCAA Division III Week, Wellesley Athletics will feature daily profiles that will provide an opportunity to meet four of our outstanding Division III student-athletes. Each profile will touch on multiple aspects of the student-athlete experience, including: on and off the field accomplishments, leadership and community involvement and what being a Division III student-athlete means to them. This week's final profile focuses on Wellesley Softball junior Jaclyn Tsang. A native of Manalapan, N.J., Jaclyn and the Blue will be in action this afternoon (April 10) at 3:00 PM when they host Wheaton.

Wellesley Athletics (WA):What Academic Accomplishment are you most proud of during your time at Wellesley?

Jaclyn Tsang (JT): Balancing school and softball and all of my other time commitments is something that I am really proud of. Although I take pride in my athletic achievements and academic accomplishments I am very happy with how much I have learned about the importance of balancing both. This is a skill I will carry into the future.

WA: What Athletic Accomplishment are you most proud of during your time at Wellesley?

JT: I am most proud of our 2014 NEWMAC Championship. We had a very small roster but we all pulled together to really do our best. We were unified as a team and it was a great feeling.

WA: What Leadership and/or Community Involvement projects have you been involved with?

JT: I am on Team Impact, which is a great athletic community involvement. Right now, the softball team is matched with Maeve. We do a lot of activities with her such as going to movies or trick or treating (see picture below!). We also have a great relationship with Maeve and her family. It is a really great thing for our team. Currently, the Team Impact committee is working on getting more matches for our varsity athletic teams at Wellesley.

WA: What has your experience as a Wellesley student-athlete meant to you?

Softball is something I've done my whole life and I'm glad I continued playing in college. The athletic community is great to be a part of because it is an amazing group of people at Wellesley and very supportive. I can't imagine my life without softball and athletics.
