Blue Softball’s Bresee, Pisac Named to NFCA All-Region Team

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College softball junior Anna Pisac (Snohomish, Wash.) and senior Carly Bresee (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) have each been named to the 2016 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III New England All-Region Team. Pisac earned a place as an outfielder on the second team, while Bresee was an at-large third team selection.

Pisac earns her first all-region honor following a 2016 campaign that saw her establish career-highs in multiple offensive categories, including hits (46), home runs (9), runs batted in (37), walks (11), stolen bases (12), batting average (.390), on-base percentage (.443) and slugging percentage (.720). A New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) second team All-Conference selection, Pisac added eight doubles and a pair of triples in 118 at-bats. In centerfield, Pisac recorded 77 putouts and five assists, finishing the season with a .988 fielding percentage.

Bresee earns all-region recognition for the third time in her career. The Wellesley senior earned second team all-region honors in 2013 and 2015. One of the most prolific hitters in program history, Bresee is top-ten all-time in program history in multiple categories, including batting average (.413), hits (150), doubles (34) and runs scored (92). Bresee, who was a NEWMAC All-Conference second team selection in 2016, matched her career-high with 54 hits this season. She also established new career highs in runs scored with 41 and doubles, with 15, while knocking home 17 runs batted in. Wellesley's everyday catcher, Bresee was also second on the Blue with a .403 average
