No. 6 Wellesley Softball To Open NEWMAC Championship vs. No. 3 Wheaton

2017 NEWMAC Softball Championship Bracket

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- No. 6 Wellesley College softball will open the 2017 NEWMAC Softball Championship against No. 3 Wheaton College on Friday, April 28, at 2:30 PM at Springfield College's Potter Field. 

WPI (14-4) clinched the top seed as well as the regular season title and has earned hosting rights heading into the first weekend. Also earning hosting rights on Day One is No. 2 Springfield (13-5). Wheaton earned the No. 3 seed with their 12-6 conference record followed by No. 4 Babson (12-6). The Lyons defeated the Beavers 2-0 in the regular season to break the tie. Earning the No. 5 seed is MIT who wrapped up at 11-7 followed by Wellesley who also finished at 11-7. The Engineers lifted over the Blue through conference tiebreaking procedures.
