Coleman, Pisac, Manning Land On NEWMAC Softball All-Conference Team

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released the 2017 Softball postseason awards on Monday morning and Wellesley College senior outfielders Ashtyn Coleman (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Anna Pisac (Snohomish, Wash.) have been named to the All-Conference first team, while junior outfielder Amanda Manning (Chico, Calif.) has earned a spot on the All-Conference second team.

For Coleman, the 2014 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year and the 2015 NEWMAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, the All-Conference recognition is the third of her career, as she also earned first team honors in 2014 and 2016.  Coleman hit a team-leading .391, with 30 runs batted in and 13 doubles in 30 games during the 2017 season. She was seventh in the NEWMAC in batting average, while also finishing among the top-five in doubles and slugging percentage. Coleman's 36 hits in 2017 helped her move to second on Wellesley's all-time hits list with 166 in her career, while her .426 career batting average is also the highest in program history.

Pisac earns her second-straight All-Conference honor, and her first All-Conference first team recognition, after earning a spot on the All-Conference second team as a junior. A three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selection, Pisac hit .383 with five doubles, five triples and four home runs in 2017, finishing her Wellesley career as the program's all-time leader in home runs (21), triples (16), and runs batted in (121). Wellesley's centerfielder was also first on the team and fourth in the NEMWAC in on-base percentage with a career-best mark of .505, after also drawing a team-high 19 walks. In 26 games played in the outfield this season, Pisac was flawless, making no errors while also picking up five outfield assists.

Manning earns her first career All-Conference nod with a spot on the NEWMAC second team. The junior finished 2017 with a team-high 34 runs scored out of the leadoff spot in the Wellesley lineup. Manning posted a team-high 41 hits, while racking up nine doubles, four triples and three home runs, to go along with 14 runs batted in. She hit .387 on the season, finishing eighth in the conference in the category. Her .435 on-base percentage trailed only Wellesley's first team selections among Blue batters, while her .632 slugging percentage was fourth on the team.

Wellesley College softball finished the 2017 season with an 18-12 overall record and advanced to the NEWMAC Postseason for the 13th straight year under the direction of Head Coach Keri O'Meara.
