Softball Announces 2020 Schedule; Opens Season March 21 in Clermont, Fla.

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College softball and Head Coach Keri O'Meara have announced the team's schedule for the upcoming 2020 season.

The Blue will open the season on March 21, 2020 with the first of eight games in five days at the 2020 Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. The Blue are currently scheduled to play on March 21 at the Hancock Recreation Complex and on March 22, 24, and 25 at the Legends Way Ballfields. Opponents and times at the 2020 Spring Games are subject to change but currently include match-ups with: Kalamazoo and Oberlin on March 21, Middlebury and Hamline on March 22, Wis.-Oshkosh and Wis.-River Falls on March 24 and Chicago and Colby on March 25.

The team returns home to begin the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) season with a doubleheader on Friday, March 27 at Emerson. The Blue will host crosstown rival Babson in the first home doubleheader of the season the next day on Saturday, March 28, at 12:00 PM. All nine NEWMAC match-ups on the schedule are doubleheaders, including the remaining home dates with Wheaton (April 3), Coast Guard (April 11), WPI (April 17), and Clark (April 18). April's schedule also includes a non-conference doubleheader with Endicott on April 15.

The 2020 NEWMAC Championship will begin on campus site on Wednesday, April 29 and conclude on Saturday, May 2 or Sunday, May 3, with the winner earning an automatic trip to the 2020 NCAA Division III Softball Championship. Last season, Wellesley earned the sixth and final spot in the conference tournament before falling to eventual champion WPI in the tournament's ninth game.
