Wellesley Softball Welcomes Claire Roll as Assistant Coach

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Keri O'Meara, Head Softball Coach and Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics (PERA) Associate Professor of the Practice at Wellesley College has announced the hiring of Claire Roll as Assistant Softball Coach. Roll comes to Wellesley as part of the NCAA's Coaching Enhancement Grant program.

Roll joins the Blue coaching staff after spending the 2021 season as Head Coach at Eastern Nazarene College in nearby Quincy, MA. Roll has also served as the Head Coach of the Rage 18U Softball team since 2017 and has given private instruction in all elements of the game since 2008. Roll was also a collegiate assistant coach at her alma mater, Gordon College from 2013-14.

Roll started her collegiate playing career at Division III Alfred University before moving to Gordon College in Wenham, MA. During her senior season in 2011, Roll set the Gordon season record for season earned runs allowed (7), season earned run average (1.63), and strikeouts per 7 innings-pitched (9.23).

Roll graduated from Gordon in 2012 with a BA in Studio Art, Sculpture before earning a post-baccalaureate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in 2013. She earned her MFA in Sculpture from Boston University in 2016.
