Wellesley College basketball sophomore Caitlin Aguirre (El Paso, Texas) has been named to the 2017-18 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference Second Team.

Wellesley Basketball Earns Senior Day Win over Mount Holyoke, 68-19

Wellesley College basketball opened the game on a 20-2 run and went on to earn a 68-19 victory over Seven Sisters rival Mount Holyoke College in the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) finale for both teams on Saturday at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Caitlin Aguirre (El Paso, Texas) scored a game-high 21 points, but Wellesley College basketball came up just short on Wednesday evening, falling 67-60 to host WPI in New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. 

10 student-athletes representing the Blue basketball and swimming & diving teams earned Academic All-Conference accolades.

Sophomore Caitlin Aguirre (El Paso, Texas) scored the final seven Blue points of the game to help Wellesley College basketball hold on for a 52-49 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) victory over Wheaton College on Wednesday at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse. 

Laura McGeary and the Blue finished the game shooting 51.4% from the field and, scored 44 points off of MHC turnovers (Julia Monaco).
