Wellesley's Aguirre Named to NEWMAC Basketball All-Conference 2nd Team
WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College basketball sophomore Caitlin Aguirre (El Paso, Texas) has been named to the 2017-18 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball All-Conference Second Team.
Aguirre finished the season averaging 12.7 points/game, good for seventh in the NEWMAC, while also averaging a conference best 2.5 steals/game. Last season's NEWMAC Rookie of the Year, Aguirre didn't miss a beat in her sophomore season, as she posted four 20-point outings in 2017-18, including three in conference contests. The sophomore guard knocked down 43.2% of her attempts from the floor and 37.3% from beyond the arc, while totaling 57 steals, snagging 104 rebounds, and dishing out 45 assists in 23 games this season.
Aguirre and the Blue finished the 2017-2018 season with a 9-14 overall record and a 6-10 record in NEWMAC play.
