The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2018-19 Winter Academic All-Conference Team and a total of ten Wellesley College student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence in the classroom.

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2018-19 Women's Basketball All-Conference and Postseason awards on Tuesday and Wellesley College junior Caitlin Aguirre has been named to the All-Conference Second Team for the second straight season.

Seniors Lauren Bondi (Burnaby, BC, Can.) and Kennedy Guest-Pritchett (Fairburn, Ga.) combined for 35 points to lead No. 2 Smith College to a 75-38 victory over No. 7 Wellesley College in the quarterfinals of the 2019 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women’s Basketball Championship on Tuesday evening at Ainsworth Gymnasium. 

The Blue are back in the postseason for the first time since 2013-14 (Julia Monaco).

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference has released the 2019 Women's Basketball Championship bracket. The championship tournament will consist of seven teams that will begin postseason play on Tuesday, February 19th. After NEWMAC tie breaking procedures were applied, Wellesley College basketball (8-14, 5-11) earned the final spot as the No. 7 seed.

Senior guard Zojajha Ayub has been a consistent threat for the Wellesley basketball team since her first year.  Nearing the end of her senior season, the two year captain has started a total of 42 games, tallying 306 points and 171 rebounds in her career. With the last few games of the season approaching, Ayub is enjoying every moment on the court with her teammates and is looking forward to finishing the season strong.

Sophomore Alyssa Cho (Hillsborough, Calif.) finished one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing nine boards, but Wellesley College basketball dropped a 62-40 final to visiting Babson College in New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Wednesday evening at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.
