Seniors Caitlin Aguirre (Basketball) and Frances Dingivan (Crew) have been named the 2019-20 Wellesley College Athletics Awards co-recipients of the Barbara Barnes Hauptfuhrer '49 Scholar-Athlete Award. They are the first co-recipients of the honor since 2002.

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has revealed the 2019-20 Winter All-Sportsmanship honorees and two Wellesley College student-athletes have been recognized among the 36 selections made by teams and coaches.

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2019-2020 Women's Basketball Postseason Awards on Wednesday and Wellesley College Head Coach Jennifer Kroll has been named the conference's 2019-20 Coach of the Year. In addition, senior Kendall You Mak (San Francisco, Calif.) has been named the NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year and senior Caitlin Aguirre (El Paso, Texas) has been named to the All-Conference First Team.

No. 5 Wellesley Falls to No. 4 MIT in NEWMAC Basketball Quarterfinals, 67-53

Sophomore Christina Antonakakis (Holmdel, N.J. ) scored a career-high 33 points to lift fourth-seeded MIT to a 67-53 victory over fifth-seeded Wellesley College in the quarterfinals of the 2020 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women’s Basketball Championship on Wednesday at Rockwell Cage.

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2019-20 Women's Basketball Academic All-Conference Team. A total of 49 student-athletes were honored, including all three members of the Wellesley College basketball senior class.

With the end of the regular season this afternoon, the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has revealed the 2020 Women's Basketball Championship bracket. Wellesley College basketball (6-4 NEWMAC) finished as the fifth seed and will play at fouth-seeded MIT on Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00 PM in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals.

Blue Basketball Drops NEWMAC Finale at Springfield, 49-36

Springfield College opened the game on a 14-0 run and never trailed en route to a 49-36 victory over Wellesley College basketball in the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular-season finale for both teams on Saturday at Blake Arena.

Senior Emily Kopp scored 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead the Blue (Frank Poulin).

Wellesley College basketball rallied from a 13-point first quarter deficit to defeat Emerson College, 60-52, in a key New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.

Blue Basketball Falls to Fisher in Non-Conference Play, 44-41

First year Jiyun Chae (Chantilly, Va.) dropped in 11 points and grabbed six rebounds but Wellesley College basketball dropped a non-conference decision to visiting Fisher College, 44-41, on Wednesday evening at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.

First year Pujita Shukla had a game-high 14 points, to go along with three rebounds and four steals (Frank Poulin).

Senior Caitlin Aguirre (El Paso, Texas) scored a team-high 19 points but Wellesley College basketball dropped a 80-61 final to New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) rival Babson College on Wednesday evening at Staake Gymnasium.

Senior Kendall You Mak finished with seven points and eight rebounds (Frank Poulin).

Junior Alyssa Cho (Hillsborough, Calif.) scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, as Wellesley College basketball topped Wheaton, 60-50, in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Saturday afternoon at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.

Wellesley College Athletics will celebrate the 34th Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day when the Blue basketball team hosts Wheaton (Mass.) at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 PM. This year's event will include Wellesley's second annual sports clinic for girls athletes from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
