WELLESLEY CREW HEADED BACK TO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Watch the selection show

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College crew team earned a spot at the NCAA Championships for the fifth-straight season, as announced on tonight's selection show on NCAA.com. Wellesley has once again earned a team-bid to the national event.

The Blue will compete for a national title May 30th through June 1st at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. Notre Dame will once again serve as the NCAA host institution for the championships, in conjunction with Indiana Sports Corp and the Indianapolis Rowing Center.

The 2014 NCAA Division III Rowing Championships are comprised of six teams and each team is required to field two boats of eight rowers and a coxswain. Two at-large eights were also selected. The Division III event is held in conjunction with the Division I and Division II Championships.

Wellesley once again used a solid spring to cement its place at the National Championships. The Blue earned the NEWMAC Championship title and the NEWMAC Points Trophy, while the both varsity boats advanced to the grand finals at the New England Championships and the ECAC National Invitational Regatta.

In the fall, Wellesley had a solid showing at the historic Head of the Charles Regatta, and then closed that portion of the season with a win at the Seven Sisters Championships.

The 2014 event will mark the sixth overall NCAA Championship appearance in Wellesley rowing history. Last season, the Blue took fifth place as a team at the event.
