Blue Crew Tabbed Third in NCAA DIII Preseason Poll

WELLESLEY, Mass. — Wellesley College Crew will open the 2015 spring season ranked third in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/US Rowing Coaches NCAA Division III Preseason Poll. 

Defending NCAA DIII Champion Trinity (Conn.) opens the season at number one after receiving a total of 146 votes and six first place votes. Trinity (Conn.) was followed closely by Bates, as the Bobcats received 137 votes and four first place votes to earn the number two spot in the polls. Blue Crew collected a total of 129 votes to rank third, while Williams (126) and Washington (Md.) (92) round out the top-five.  

After climbing as high as the top spot in the national poll last spring, Blue Crew closed out the year with a fourth-place overall team finish at the 2014 NCAA DIII Rowing Championships, marking the fifth straight season that Wellesley finished top-five nationally. 

Wellesley will kick-off its spring schedule on Friday, March 27 versus No. 5 Washington College on the Chester River in Chestertown, Md.
