29 Blue Student-Athletes Earn NEWMAC, Liberty League Spring Academic Honors

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- A total of 29 Wellesley College spring sport student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence in the classroom by the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and the Liberty League. In addition, six Wellesley College fencers have met the qualifications for All-Academic recognition with a 3.5/4.0 GPA. 

Wellesley earned eight selections from the crew and track and field teams, while softball earned five selections, tennis picked up three, and lacrosse earned two. Honorees from fencing and for NEWMAC selection must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2018 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season. Three members of the golf team earned Liberty League accolades; to be recognized as a member of the Liberty League All-Academic Team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.
