Wellesley Crew Garners CRCA and NIRC National Academic Honors

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) and National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC) have announced their respective national All-Academic accolades for the 2019 season.

Led by All-Americans Frances Dingivan (Salt Lake City, Utah) and Rhiannon Mulligan (Santa Cruz, Calif.), four members of the Wellesley College crew team earned CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honors, while 16 student-athletes were honored with All-Academic recognition by the NIRC.

To earn CRCA National Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must: be in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of eligibility, have rowed in an NCAA eligible boat for 75% of their institution's spring races, and have a coach that is in good standing with the CRCA. Most importantly, student-athletes must have a a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for their career. Wellesley's 2019 CRCA Scholar-Athletes are:

In addition to being named CRCA Scholar-Athletes, Dingivan, Iannotti, Mulligan, and Reahl, also were awarded as members of the NIRC All-Academic Team, along with 12 of their Blue Crew teammates. For a student-athlete to be recognized by the NIRC, they must have completed one full-year at their institution (first years and first-year transfers are not eligible), maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.35 and be recognized as a varsity letter winner.
