  • 2x Northeast Fencing Conference Second Team - Foil (2017-18, 2018-19)

2017-18: As a sophomore, went 52-17 overall...posted a 12-2 finish at the LIU Post Invitational with 3-0 wins against Fairleigh Dickinson and Wagner...went 10-5 at the Vassar Invitational on November 12...had a perfect 3-0 win that contributed to Wellesley’s overall 15-12 victory over Haverford...posted a 12-5 finish at the Northeast Fencing Conference Meet #1 at Brown...had 3-0 wins over UNH and Sacred Heart and a 2-1 win over Brandeis that contributed to Wellesley’s 14-13 victory against Brandeis...went 2-1 against UC San Diego on January 20...went 15-2 at the Northeast Fencing Conference at Smith On February 10...had 3-0 wins against UMass, Boston University, and Tufts on February 10...got 5th place at the NEIFC Championships on February 24...placed 12th at the NCAA Northeast Regional on March 11...named to the 2018 Northeast Fencing Conference Second Team - Foil.

Before Wellesley: 2016 Advanced Honors graduate of James Monroe High School... was a member of National Honor Society, Beta Club and recognized as a Monroe Scholar... has been named as to the USA Fencing Academic All-American Team - First Team... An avid Girl Scout of nine years, Brie has earned her Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, numerous leadership and religious scouting awards....  the founder of FRESH (Fitness Recovery Education for Survivorship Health).... enjoys stain glass jewelry making and other detailed projects... An accomplished musician, she was the first student to establish an independent study in music at her high school pursing her love of singing and French Horn in addition to performing with Choral and Band ensembles for four years... has served as a crew member in the Virginia Youth Conservation Corp in 2013 and 2015...  fencing career began at the Dark Horse Fencing Club, Fredericksburg, VA... has trained for the past four years at Richmond Fencing Club where she was the captain of the RFC Junior Olympics Women's foil team and has served as a coaching assistant. 

Personal: Daughter of Charles and Stephanie Maurer, Fredericksburg, Virginia... has two fencing brothers, Chip and Ned, and a loving cat known as Boo Boo Kitty.... an avid fan of puns and will be happy to share her unique sense of humor... can always be seen with a smile on her face, striving to spread her smile all around the world!
