Wellesley College fencing interim Head Coach Rob Charlton and the Blue coaching staff have been named Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) Women's Team Coaching Staff of the Year. This is Wellesley's second consecutive year receiving the NFC's Women's Team Coaching Staff of the Year honor.

Three fencers advanced to the semifinal round as Wellesley College fencing competed on Sunday at the 2020 NCAA Northeast Regional Championships, hosted by Cornell University at Barton Hall.

Eleven fencers will represent Wellesley College fencing at the 2020 NCAA Fencing Northeast Regional Championships on Sunday, March 8, at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. Competition at Barton Hall will begin at 9:00 AM.

The Blue have now won back-to-back NEIFC Women's Three-Weapon Championships.

Wellesley College fencing captured the program’s second straight three-weapon women’s team title on Saturday at the 2020 NEIFC Championships at Vassar College’s Walker Fieldhouse.

Three members of the Wellesley College fencing team have earned Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) All-Star honors for the 2019-20 season. Senior Brie Maurer (Fredericksburg, Va.) earned a third career honor and a spot on the NFC Foil Second Team. Junior Julia Calventus-Coveney (Barcelona, Spain) and first year Kimberley Kimura (Los Angeles, Calif.) were both named to the Second Team in Epee. The honor is also the third for Calventus-Coveney.

Blue Fencing Goes 6-0 at NFC No. 3; Sets Program Record For Wins at 24

Wellesley College fencing used a 6-0 record at the third Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) meet of the season to set the program record for wins in a season at 24 on Sunday at Tufts. The Blue defeated the host Jumbos, Smith College, UMass, Vassar, Boston University, and Dartmouth to finish the NFC season with a 9-3 record.

Wellesley Fencing Tops Tufts, Falls at Brandeis

Wellesley College fencing defeated Tufts University, 22-5, but fell to host Brandeis University, 17-10, on Tuesday evening at the Gosman Athletic Center. The Blue, in action for the first time since December 5th, are now 18-7 overall.

Senior Brie Maurer (Fredericksburg, Va.) and first years Alexia Gilioli (New York, New York) and Isabella Stewart (Scarsdale, N.Y.) each earned bout victories in foil but Harvard University cruised past Wellesley College fencing, 18-9, on Thursday evening at the Malkin Athletic Center.

Blue Fencing Posts 1-2 Mark at Brandeis Invitational

Wellesley College fencing finished with a 1-2 record on Sunday at the Brandeis Invitational. The Blue defeated Incarnate Word, 16-11, but dropped 19-8 finals to both Cornell and St. John’s. An afternoon match-up with Yale was cancelled to allow for traveling teams to return home prior to the arrival of inclement weather.

Wellesley College fencing posted a 3-3 record at the first Northeast Fencing Conference meet of the season on Sunday at Brown University. The Blue defeated New Hampshire, Sacred Heart, and Brandeis, but fell by just one bout to Boston College, MIT, and the host Bears.

Wellesley College fencing swept through the Vassar Invitational with a 7-0 record on Saturday at Walker Fieldhouse. The Blue are now 13-0 overall after picking-up wins over Stevens, Fairleigh Dickinson, Yeshiva, LIU, Hunter, Sacred Heart, and Haverford.
