On Wednesday, the U.S. Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) announced its annual All-American team. Wellesley College fencing sophomore Grace Xu (Toronto, Ontario) and first years Phoebe Li (Palo Alto, Calif.), Alisha Li (Warren, N.J.) and Lauren Khoo (San Francisco, Calif.) have each received USFCA Division III All-American recognition.

Eight members of Wellesley College fencing have been recognized as Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) Academic All-Conference recipients. Additionally, the Blue earned the Academic All-Conference Team award with a team GPA of 3.53.

Four members of Wellesley College fencing received U.S. Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Northeast All-Region recognition on Thursday. First year Phoebe Li (Palo Alto, Calif.) made the All-Northeast Second Team for all NCAA divisions in foil. P. Li also made the Division III All-Region Team. Sophomore Gina Huang (Taipei, Taiwan) and first years Alisha Li (Warren, N.J.) and Lauren Khoo (San Francisco, Calif.) each made the Division III All-Region Team.

Wellesley Fencing to Send 11 Members to NCAA Northeast Regional

Wellesley College fencing will have 11 student-athletes represent the Blue at this weekend's NCAA Northeast Regional. Competition takes place at Long Island University's Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville, N.Y. on Sunday, March 10.

Blue Fencing Defeats Division I No. 10 Northwestern at Tufts Invitational

Wellesley College fencing earned a victory over Division I No. 5 Northwestern with wins from the foil and epee squads at the Tufts Invitational on Sunday at Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center. In addition to earning a ranked Division I win, the Blue narrowly fell 14-13 to Division III No. 5 Tufts. The epee squad picked up a 6-3 win over the Jumbos. Epee's two-win day was led by seven victories from sophomore Grace Xu (Toronto, Ontario) and five from first year Alisha Li (Warren, N.J.).

Wellesley Fencing Goes 4-2 at Brandeis Invitational; Foil and Epee Defeat Division I Cornell

Wellesley College fencing went 4-2 at the Brandeis Invitational with wins against Yeshiva University, Lawrence University, Drew University , and Long Island University on Sunday. Foil squad earned five wins on the day, including a 5-4 victory over Division I Cornell. Sophomore Gina Huang (Taipei, Taiwan) and first year Phoebe Li (Palo Alto, Calif.) both had 10 wins and first year Lauren Khoo (San Francisco, Calif.) contributed eight victories.

The Northeast Fencing Conference (NFC) announced its Conference All-Stars in the varsity division for the 2023-24 season following the conclusion of the NFC Conference Meet this past weekend. Wellesley College fencing sophomore Grace Xu (Toronto, Ontario) was named to First Team in epee, first year Phoebe Li (Palo Alto, Calif.) made the First Team in foil, and first year Alisha Li (Warren, N.J.) earned Second Team honors in epee.

Wellesley Fencing Earns a Pair of Wins at NFC Conference Meet No. 1

Wellesley College fencing earned a pair of wins over Sacred Heart and Vassar at the Northeast Fencing Conference Meet No. 1, hosted by Boston College on Sunday. The Blue were competitive against several ranked Division III teams and a few Division I teams.

Wellesley College fencing picked up wins over Haverford, Lafayette, Hunter, and Stevens as the team went 4-3 at the Vassar Invitational on Sunday. First year Alisha Li (Warren, N.J.) had a standout day, going 16-2 overall to help the Epee squad earn four wins. Sophomore Grace Xu (Toronto, Ontario) added 11 victories, including three wins against No. 7 ranked in Division III Denison.

Wellesley College fencing was voted No. 4 in Division III fencing in the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Tuesday. New York University was the top ranked Division III fencing program, followed by Johns Hopkins in second, Brandeis in third, and the Blue in fourth. Princeton fencing was voted the top overall program in all divisions.
