Wellesley Golf Improves on Day Two of Spring Break Invitational

WESLEY CHAPEL, FLA -- The Wellesley College golf team finished in 3rd place at the two-day Wellesley Spring Break Invitational that wrapped up on Tuesday afternoon. The event was held at the par-72, 5,823-yard Lexington Oaks Golf Club.

Wellesley shaved an astounding 51 strokes off their score to finish with a team total of 751.  Junior Lei Wei paced the Blue with rounds 94 and 87 for a 181 total, finishing in a tie for 4th place.  Sophomore Jacqueline Lu and first-year Maya Muldowney both improved their scores by double-digits on day two, recording totals of 186 and 193 respectively.

Vassar College took home the team title with rounds of 365 and 334, with senior Caitlin Bell taking home individual medal honors with rounds of 86 and 84.  Bell narrowly edged Allegheny College sophomore Alexandra Grimaldis who finished with a 172 total.

Wellesley golf is back in action on April 11th and 12th at the Vassar Invitational.
