Blue Golf Takes Ninth at Jack Leaman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. — Wellesley College golf turned in a score of 375 to finish in ninth place at the one-day Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by Amherst College on Saturday at the 5895 yard, par 74 Hickory Ridge Golf Club. 

Ithaca College took the overall team title with a score of 324, followed by Middlebury and Williams, who tied for second at 325. New York University (330) and Mount Holyoke (332) completed the top-five in a field that also included host Amherst, Vassar, SUNY-Cortland, and Delhi. 

Junior Lei Wei paced the Blue with a score of low score of 91, finishing two strokes ahead of sophomore Jacqueline Lu's mark of 93. Seniors Becca Berger (96), Haneen Anbarserri (96) and first year Samantha Laveni (97) rounded out the Wellesley group on Saturday. 

Blue golf will now look forward to the 2015 Liberty League Championship next weekend, April 25th and 26. The tournament will be hosted by Williams Smith College at the Clifton Springs Country Club in Clifton Springs, N.Y. Tee time on Saturday is at 11:00 AM.
