Blue Golf in Fifth After Day One Of 2015 Liberty League Championships

CLIFTON SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Wellesley College golf currently sits in in fifth place following day one of the 2015 Liberty League Women's Golf Championships at the Par 71, 5,841 yard Clifton Springs Country Club. 

New York University (NYU) currently leads the Championships with a total score of 315. Mount Holyoke (336), Vassar (340), St. Lawrence (345) and Wellesley (349) round out the top-five in a field that also includes host William Smith (374) and Union College (393). 

Wellesley junior Lei Wei (Brentwood, Calif.) is currently tied for sixth place after turning in a first round score of 83. Wei is tied with three other players that all trail overall leader Lina Kim (76) of NYU by seven strokes. 

First year Maya Muldowney (Waunakee, Wis.) and senior Becca Berger (Princeton, N.J.) are also in the top-20 in the 36 player field. Muldowney finished with a first round score of 87, while Berger registered a mark of 88. 

Sophomore Jacqueline Lu (Rowland Heights, Calif.) and first year Emily Smith (North Mankato, Minn.) also added scores of 91 and 96, respectively, for the Blue.
