Wellesley Golf Concludes Play at 2015 Liberty League Championships

CLIFTON SPRINGS, N.Y. — Wellesley College golf concluded play at the 2015 Liberty League Women's Golf Championships on Sunday afternoon. The Blue turned in a two-day score of 699 to earn fifth place in the team competition at the Par 71, 5,841 yard Clifton Springs Country Club. 

New York University won the team title and the Liberty League's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Women's Golf Championship with a two-day score of 642. The Violets were led by individual medalist Alyssa Poentis, as the first year recorded a two-day score of 155 to finish five strokes ahead of the field. 

Wellesley first year Maya Muldowney (Waunakee, Wis.) completed the weekend as the top finisher for the Blue, matching her first round score of 87 on day two to finish in a tie for 12th place with a score of 174. Senior Becca Berger (Princeton, N.J.) also shot an 87 on the day, closing the weekend just behind Muldowney at 175 to take 15th place. 

Junior Lei Wei (Brentwood, Calif.) finished with a two-day score of 176, while sophomore Jacqueline Lu (Rowland Heights, Calif.) shot an 86 and first year Emily Smith (North Mankato, Minn.) recorded a score of 90 to finish with overall scores of 177 and 186, respectively. 

The 2015 Liberty League Championships concludes the season for the Wellesley golf program.
