Tanaka-Pesamino Named Liberty League Golf Rookie of the Week

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College golf first year Kalau Tanaka-Pesamino (Ewa Beach, Hawai'i) has been named the Liberty League women's golf Rookie of the Week for the week ending September 11, 2016. 

Tanaka-Pesamino fired a one-over par round of 73 on the Blue's home Nehoiden Golf Course on Saturday. Tanaka-Pesamino was the top finisher in the field of 15 golfers as the Blue defeated Husson and Rhode Island College in a three-team event with a team record score of 316. She is the first Wellesley golfer to ever win the award. The Blue joined the Liberty League as an associate member in 2012-13. 

Wellesley returns to Nehoiden next weekend to host the 9th Annual Ann S. Batchelder Invitational, Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18.
