Muldowney Leads Blue Golf to Win Over JWU, RIC

CRANSTON, R.I. – Wellesley College golf junior Maya Muldowney  (Waunakee, Wis.) led the field with an 11-over round of 83 as the Blue swept the top-five spots in the standings at a one-day tri-team event hosted by Johnson & Wales University at the par-72 Alpine Country Club in Cranston, Rhode Island. 

The Blue put together a team score of 338 to outdistance the host Wildcats (399) and Rhode Island College (452) and win the event.

First year Naomi Kim (Troy, Mich.) finished one stroke behind Muldowney with a round of 84. Classmate Kalau Tanaka-Pesamino (Ewa Beach, Hawai'i) was a stroke back of her with a score of 85, while first year Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) added a round of 86 and sophomore Amy (Zilin) Jin (Shenzhen, China) finished fifth with a score of 88.

Today's event concludes the fall season for the Wellesley golf team. The Blue will return to action on Saturday, April 8, at the Vassar Invitational.
