Wellesley Golf Springs Back Into Action at Vassar Invitational

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Wellesley College golf opened the spring season on Saturday at the annual Vassar College Invitational, held at the Par-72, 5,849 Yard Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Blue are in ninth place (355) following the first day of action. 

First years Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and Kalau Tanaka-Pesamino (Ewa Beach, Hawai'i) are tied for 28th place after firing matching scores of 86 (+14) on Saturday. The two first years were the leaders for Wellesley, followed by junior Maya Muldowney's (Waunakee, Wis.) round of 90 (+18). First year Naomi Kim (Troy, Mich.) added an opening round score of 93 (+21), while sophomore Annika Vandayar (Garnet Valley, Pa.) rounded out the Blue team scores with a 96 (+24).

NYU leads the team standings with a score of 317. Kimberly Wong of Ithaca College, Andrea Han of host Vassar, and Morgan Yurosek of Amherst are all tied for the overall lead after shooting matching rounds of 74 (+4) on day one. 

The tournament continues tomorrow, Sunday, April 9, with a shotgun start at 9:30 AM.
