Chun Leads Blue Golf On Day One at Vassar Invitational
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Wellesley College golf is in eighth place after day one of the 2018 Vassar invitational at the Par 72, 5809-Yard Casperkill Golf Club. Sophomore Isabelle Chun (Palo Alto, Calif.) leads the Blue individually after shooting an opening round 83 (+11) to finish tied for 19th after the opening 18 holes.
Ithaca College sophomore Peyton Greco (Saint James, N.Y.) is the overall leader at +3 thanks to a score of 75. NYU leads the team standings with a score of 319, with Williams and Ithaca tied for second with matching scores of 322. Wellesley finished the round with a combined total of 355.
Senior Maya Muldowney (Waunakee, Wis.) is two stokes back of Chun with a score of 85 (T28th), while first year Rosey Li (Princeton, N.J.) carded a 92 (T44th) and sophomore Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) finished with a 95 (T48th). Sophomore Olivia de Cuba (Bilthoven, Netherlands) was the final player in the Blue team group, finishing Saturday with a round of 98 (52nd). Playing as an individual, Wellesley sophomore Naomi Kim (Troy, Mich.) finished with a 92 and is currently tied with Li on the individual leaderboard.
Sunday's final round play is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM in cold and rainy conditions.
