Wellesley Golf Opens Play at Amherst's Jack Leaman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass. – Wellesley College golf is in sixth place after day one of the 2018 Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by Amherst College at the Par 72, 5,806 yard Amherst Golf Club. 

The Blue totaled a score of 348 (+60) on Saturday and currently trail fifth place Vassar by eight strokes. The host Mammoths are in first place with a score of 316 (+28), followed by NYU with a score of 320 (+32), and Williams at 323 (+35).  Amherst first year Isabelle Ouyang (Edina, Minn.) leads the field by four strokes thanks to a two-over par score of 74. 

Wellesley sophomore Isabelle Chun (Palo Alto, Calif.), senior Maya Muldowney (Waunakee, Wis.), and first year Rosey Li (Princeton, N.J.) are all tied for 25th after shooting matching opening round scores of 86 (+14) to lead the Blue. Sophomore Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) is in a tie for 38th (90/+18), while first year Abby Zhong (Mercer Island, Wash.) is in a tie for 40th (92/+20). Rounding out the field for the Blue, junior Annika Vandayar (Garnet Valley, Pa.) is tied for 43rd after an opening round 95 (+23).

Final round play at the Jack Leaman Invitational begins on Sunday, April 22 at 8:00 AM.
