Wellesley's MacVicar, Warburg Sweep Liberty League Women's Golf Weekly Awards

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College golf junior Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and first year Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) have each earned Liberty League Women's Golf Performer of the Week honors for the week ending September 16, 2018. MacVicar has been named the conference's Performer of the Week and Warburg has been named Liberty League Rookie of the Week. 

MacVicar posted matching rounds of 76 on both Saturday and Sunday to finish in a tie for third place at Wellesley's annual Ann S. Batchelder Invitational. MacVicar's score on both days matched her career-low. 

Warburg fired an opening round 75 to enter the final round tied for the lead. She finished the weekend with a 78 on Sunday, taking fifth place overall in her collegiate debut. MacVicar and Warburg tied for the tournament lead in pars (25). 

Wellesley finished second overall in the team standings following a weekend in which they posted the team's best round in tournament history with a score of 306 on Saturday.

MacVicar, Warburg and the Blue golf team will return to action this Saturday and Sunday, September 22 and 23, in the Mount Holyoke Invitational at The Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass.
