Wellesley Golf in Third Place After Day One at Vassar Invitational

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Wellesley College golf is in third place following the opening day of play at the 2019 Vassar College Invitational at the Par 72, 5,810 yard Casperkill Golf Club. 

Williams College (301) leads the field, followed by New York University (310) in second and the Blue (319) in third. Middlebury (321) and Amherst (327) round out the top five in the field of 12.

Wellesley first year Audrey Lin (Fremont, Calif.) is six strokes back of the lead and tied for sixth after an opening round 77 (+5). Junior Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) is two strokes back of Lin in a tie for 15th after shooting a 79 (+7).

First year Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) is tied for 19th thanks to an 81 (+9), while classmates Chansie Yang (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and Aine Kenwood (Potomac, Md.) are tied for 25th following matching rounds of 82 (+10). First year Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) is tied for 39th at +16 (88).

Final round play at the Vassar Invitational tees-off tomorrow at 8:30 AM.
