Wellesley Golf in Second After Opening Day of Liberty League Championship

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Wellesley College golf is in second place following opening round play at the 2019 Liberty League Championship at the Par-73, 5,804 yard Mohawk Golf Club.

New York University leads the field with a team score of 317 in the race for the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. Second place Wellesley (333) trails by 16 strokes, with Vassar (343) in third, Ithaca (356) in fourth, and host Union (368) in fifth. Williams Smith (414) and St. Lawrence (427) round out the field of seven.

First year Chansie Yang (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) leads the Blue on the individual leaderboard after an opening round 82 (+9). Yang is in sixth place. Classmate Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) is one shot back in seventh place following an opening round 83 (+10).

First years Aine Kenwood (Potomac, Md.) and Audrey Lin (Fremont, Calif.) are tied one shot back of Blonder, with each posting opening round scores of 84 (+11). Junior Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) is tied for 19th after carding a 92 (+19).
