Blue Golf First Year Caroline MacVicar Earns LPGA's Marilynn Smith Scholarship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The LPGA Foundation announced the 30 high-school graduates selected to receive this year's Marilynn Smith Scholarship and incoming Wellesley College golf first year Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) has been selected for her outstanding academic excellence, leadership skills and active involvement and service to her community. 

MacVicar, who will join her older sister Ryan and her twin sister and fellow first year Kate on the Blue golf team this fall, was an AP Scholar recipient and a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, National Beta Club and Science National Honor Society at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Co-captain of her varsity high school golf team, she was a three-time State qualifier (2016, 2017 and 2018) and was named to the to the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) All-State Golf Team in 2018. She plans to major in biology or computer science at Wellesley. 

"I have heard much about the Wellesley experience, and I am thrilled to be a part of this inspiring and supportive group of women," said Caroline. "This is my older sister's senior year, so I am excited to be playing on the Wellesley golf team with her as my captain. I am looking forward to competing with my team and working hard on my golf game to represent Wellesley and earn the W!"
