Wellesley Golf Five Strokes Back After Day One at Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Wellesley College golf is just five strokes back of the lead following first round play at the 2019 Williams College Invitational at the Par 71, 5,826 Yard Taconic Golf Club. 

Following first round play, the host Ephs lead the field with a score of 312, Wellesley is five strokes back at 317, and Amherst sits one stroke back of the Blue in third with a score of 318 in the field of 12 teams. 

Wellesley first year Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) is two strokes off the lead in a tie for 4th after an opening round 77. Her sister and classmate Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) is alone in eighth place, just one stroke back, following a first round 78. 

Sophomore Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) is in a tie for 11th (80), while senior Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) is 20th (82). Sophomore Chansie Yang (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) is in a tie for 34th (87) and classmate Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) is 64th (96). 

Final round play at Taconic Golf Club begins Sunday morning at 9:00 AM.
