Wellesley Golf takes Fourth at Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Wellesley College golf closed out the fall season with a fourth place performance at the 2019 Williams College Invitational at the Par 71, 5,826 Yard Taconic Golf Club.

The Blue entered play on Sunday just five strokes back of the lead but dropped to fourth (317-324-641) behind tournament champion Williams (312-307-619), second place Amherst (318-306-624) and third place Middlebury (326-309-635). Amherst's Morgan Yurosek and William's Stella Woo tied atop the individual leaderboard at +9 (151).

Senior Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) was +5 on Sunday, shooting a final round 76 to move 12 spots up the leaderboard and finish in eighth place (82-76-158). First years Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) fired matching rounds of 83 to finish in ties for 11th (77-83-160) and 14th (78-83-161), respectively. Sophomore Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) completed the Wellesley team score in 17th (80-82-162).

Sophomore Chansie Yang (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) moved six spots up the leaderboard, finishing in a tie for 28th place (87-82-169). Sophomore Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) had the biggest improvement on the day for Wellesley, dropping 12 strokes to finish in a tie for 51st (96-84-180).

The Blue will continue the season on Saturday-Sunday, April 11-12, 2020 at the Vassar Invitational at the Casperkill G.C. in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
