MacVicar Finishes Second in NEIGA Championship for Wellesley Golf

BREWSTER, Mass. - Senior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) finished second overall with a score of 147 as Wellesley College golf finished fourth at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on Sunday at the Captains Golf Club in Brewster, Mass.

MacVicar was named to the NEIGA All-New England Team, given to the top six players in the draw.

Williams College (609) won the invitational, followed by Amherst College (611) in second place, Middlebury College (624) in third, and then Wellesley (628). First year Victoria Kim (West Chester, Pa.) of Williams won the individual tournament with a score of 144 on the par 72 Captain's Course.

MacVicar had four birdies in the front nine, finishing just one stroke over par on the day. Junior Emma Lim (Skillman, N.J.) tied for 10th place with an overall score of 155. Senior Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.), sophomore Norah Catlin (Wesley Chapel, Fla.), and first year Lucia Chen (Horseheads, N.Y.) finished the tournament with scores of 161, 165, and 170 respectively. Junior Marilyn Fang (Beijing, China) played as an individual and shot a 158, tying her for 14th place.
