Sharkin Earns NEWMAC Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Award

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College lacrosse sophomore Nikki Sharkin (Summit, N.J.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending April 26th, 2015.

Sharkin scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner with 15 seconds remaining in regulation, as the Blue closed out the NEWMAC regular season with an 8-7 victory over Wheaton. Sharkin also grabbed four ground balls, while adding a draw control and causing a turnover, as Wellesley secured its first victory over the Lyons since 2010.

After a thrilling 11-8 victory over Mount Holyoke in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals, Sharkin and the Blue will face MIT in the NEWMAC Semifinals on Saturday at 3:00 PM at Springfield College.
