Nine Lacrosse Student-Athletes Named to NEWMAC All-Academic Team

WESTWOOD, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2022 Lacrosse Academic All-Conference Team with nine Blue student-athletes making the team. A total of 101 student-athletes were honored.

Senior Jill Foye (Cary, N.C.) earned the honor for the third consecutive year and will graduate in May with a degree in Political Science. Classmates Izzy Burdick (Scarborough, Maine), a Spanish major, and Cassia Schuler (Portland, Ore.), an Environmental Studies major, made the list for the second time. Rounding out the senior class was Eleanor Mallett (Berwick, Maine), a Peace and Justice Studies major and Zoë Reynolds (Downers Grove, Ill.), a Biological Sciences major, who both earned the honor for the first time. 

Three juniors all made the Academic All-Conference team for the second consecutive season including: Salome Greene (Minnetrista, Minn.), an English major, Cassie Potter (New York, N.Y.), a Biochemistry major, and Liz Sugg (Palermo, Maine), a Neuroscience major.

Sophomore Gabrielle Shell (Upper Arlington, Ohio), a Middle Eastern Studies major, made the team in her first year of eligibility.

Selections must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2021 fall semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.


The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 11 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
