Georgia Markell joined the Wellesley Lacrosse program in 2016. Markell is a 2011 graduate of Mount Holyoke College, where she was a two-sport athlete for the Division III program. Markell was a starting midfielder for both the Lyons lacrosse and soccer teams. During her first year on the lacrosse team as a transferred junior, she helped lead the team to a NEWMAC semifinal game against Springfield College and an ECAC championship.

Markell went on to coach former athletes in strength and conditioning through CrossFit as well as middle school lacrosse. She continues to have fitness as a priority as she has competed in many half marathons, Olympic triathlons, and a Half Ironman. Markell is pursuing her MBA from Babson College with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.
