Wellesley Soccer's Aylward Named NEWMAC All-Conference

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) released its 2014 women's soccer All-Conference team and individual award winners on Wednesday and Wellesley College junior Rianna Aylward has earned a place on the All-Conference second team.

Aylward, a native of Bend, Oregon, is one of the most reliable defenders in the NEWMAC. The Wellesley central defender started and played every minute of Wellesley's 20 contests this season, including all ten conference match-ups. The leader of the Wellesley back line, she helped the Blue defense to secure nine shutouts on the season. The Blue finished the season with a 0.74 goals against average, good enough for second overall in the NEWMAC.

Wellesley soccer closed out the 2014 season with a 8-7-5 overall record, surrendering more than two goals in a game only once during the entire 2014 campaign.
